July 13th lecture

Does gender influence language? Hmmm, I have to say that I don't exactly agree that women speak more than a man does. I have to say that I am a pretty avid talker, I have been known to even talk in my sleep. However, in my experience through life, I have also know men that I couldn't get a word into a conversation at all. Beings I talk a lot and enjoy doing so, it can be very irritating to try to have a conversation that is one sided. When comparing this with my son and daughter, this theory would apply. My son is very quiet and keeps more to himself, and my daughter is quite a chatter box. So I believe personality would play a huge roll in determining whether the male or female sex would be more talkative.
